Average retail gasoline prices in Fort Bend have fallen 1.6 cents per gallon during the week leading up to Christmas to an average of $3.01 as of yesterday.
The local average compares with a national average that increased 0.8 cents in the last week to $3.23 per gallon, according to gasoline price website HoustonGasPrices.com.
Including the change in gas prices in Fort Bend during the past week, prices yesterday were 15.1 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago but 7.8 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.
The national average has decreased 8.9 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 21.3 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
