Fort Bend Under Wind Advisory Through Sunday Evening
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the Fort Bend County area and throughout the Houston region effective Saturday afternoon through 7 p.m. Sunday.

Despite a large increase in robberies, the overall violent crime rate in Sugar Land is down, mainly due to a significant decrease in aggravated assaults.

SLFD Annual Report Shows Most Calls For Service Are For Ambulances

The Sugar Land Fire Department’s annual report indicates that all vacancies were filled in 2009 and the department began planning for a seventh fire station. The majority of SLFD’s 6,347 total calls for service in 2009 continued to focus on emergency medical response, which totaled 3,617.
